Police spokesperson Novela Potelwa said that patrolling officers spotted the 41-year-old woman jogging by the beach at around 2.25pm.

Potelwa added: “Upon approaching her, they duly advised the person in question that exercising under level 4 of lockdown was permitted only between 6am and 9am.”

The police spokesperson also said that the jogger refused to cooperate with the police, swore at officers and as a result will face additional charges for her conduct.

Potelwa added: “Police continue to plead with community members to respect the rule of law.”
