This video seen more than three million times shows a clever lorry driver who has come up with a novel way to unload 10 tonnes of steel in under five seconds.

The viral footage from Cangzhou City in North China’s Hebei Province shows the vehicle operating at waste metal collection site with the help of a small homemade ramp.

The video show driver ‘Laosan’ hauling bundles of steel each weighing 10 tonnes as he prepares to dump the cargo at the scrapyard.

The skilful driver reverses one of his back wheels onto the small ramp, causing the vehicle to tip to one side before the bundle of metal simply rolls off onto the ground.

The unloading is done in less than five seconds and does not require the help of a crane.

He is then able to go on and collect more scrap metal for recycling.

Laosan said: “I’ve been working in scrap metal processing for more than 10 years.

“My unloading method is very simple: I open one side of the lorry bed and then put the ramp by where I want to unload the cargo.

“A staff member directs me as I reverse onto the ramp, and the job is done very quickly between the two of us.

“Our testing has shown that the angle of the ramp and the twist of the undercarriage has no negative effect on the vehicle.

“That’s why we decided to do it. It’s efficient and convenient.”
