CHUTE TO KILL: Skydiver Plunges To Death In Solo Jump Tragedy

A female paratrooper plunged to her death on a solo jump as she tried to pull off a low-altitude stunt that went tragically wrong.

Bruna Ploner, 33, died of her injuries following the accident at the Boituva skydiving centre in Boituva, south-eastern Brazil, on the morning of Sunday, 24th April.

According to witnesses, the accident happened when Bruna tried to perform a low-level manoeuvre.

The Fire Department was called to the scene at around 9am.

Grim footage shows her being pulled along by her parachute just after she crashes into the ground.

The firefighters found that she had suffered multiple trauma during her fall.

She was rushed to the local Sao Luiz Municipal Hospital but died of her injuries.

The skydiving school Go Fly said Bruna was performing a solo jump and the accident happened when she tried to make a turn at low altitude.

The Civil Police (Brazil’s investigative police force) said she was filming another paratrooper in the moments before she hit the ground.

There were clear skies and little wind when the accident happened, according to witnesses.

The school said there was no equipment failure.

The Civil Police inspected the accident site and seized the equipment used by Bruna for investigation.

Bruna was a paratrooper in the Brazilian Army, but the equipment she used in the fatal jump was not reportedly military issue.

The Army Sports Committee expressed its regret over the incident through its official channels.

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
