Chinese Teen Finds Fame With Balloon Works Of Art

A Chinese teenager dubbed the ‘king of balloons’ has won praise after these impressive photos of his rubbery works of art were shared by local media.

Xu Wulong from the city of Xingyi in the southern Chinese province of Guizhou told local media: “I can make cars, dresses and all kinds of different animals from balloons.”

The 19-year-old, who makes a living from his unusual skill, added: “I can inflate over 10,000 balloons in a day.”

According to local media, Wulong suffered with polio when he was a toddler and later fell into a coma for eight days after contracting meningitis.

After that, Wulong got sequela, a condition which is the consequence of a previous disease or injury, on his feet.

When he was eight years old, he began to visualise balloons in different shapes and became fascinated with them.

Soon afterwards, the Chinese youngster began to experiment with inflating balloons and soon learned that he could create a whole host of different items.

Wulong started receiving invitations to a number of events and commercial performances and was soon able to support himself as well as his younger sister’s schooling.

The ‘king of balloons’ has reportedly received a lot of help from local businesses and public welfare groups and hopes to continue helping people in need with his performances.
