These are the great images that show Chinese women staging a “dance off” in opposing high-rise blocks of flats to relieve the boredom of quarantine as a result of the coronavirus.

The footage was shot at a community in Chengdu, capital of south-western China’s Sichuan Province, where women who were able to see each other but could not otherwise communicate decided to let off steam after the stress of being quarantined by staging the dance off.

Video footage taken from the flat where there is a woman in a green sweater shows her enthusiastically dancing in front of a huge panorama window, and across the other side is another residential building where there are several other women doing the same thing.

At one point another resident, a man in a different apartment, gets involved and is also seen dancing back-and-forth. Online commentators were unsure who was the winner of the battle, but it was agreed that everybody was having a lot of fun.

Many communities have been put under quarantine as the country attempts to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.

In Chengdu, where this video was shot, a picture recently went viral showing a medic so tired after treating patients non-stop that he ends up sleeping against the wall. The doctor had apparently fallen asleep after performing 26 CT scans and X-Rays on patients during his shift.

And on another occasion that went viral a police officer working round the clock controlling access in and out of Shuangliu District in Chengdu had to see his newborn baby daughter on the phone because he could not attend the birth as he was working so hard.
