Chimp Brothers Go Ape For Ex Carer Who Raised Them At Zoo

This is the moment two chimp brothers go ape at the sight of their former carer who used to bottle feed them as infants.

The cute scene was filmed at the Changchun Zoological and Botanical Park in the city of Changchun in the Chinese province of Jilin on 2nd February.

The footage shows the two chimps jumping up and down excitedly and blowing kisses at their former carer through the glass in their enclosure.

A female visitor, who filmed the reunion, shared the footage online after learning that the man used to raise the two chimps, named Qiao Qiao and Qian Qian, and had a special bond with them when they were infants.

The chimps were born at the zoo in 2000 to two other apes that lived there, and the man, named Mr Wang, used to care and feed them.

Mr Wang changed positions and is now the head of the breeding department at the zoo.

As part of his current duties, he now has to carry out routine inspections at the zoo and was filmed reuniting with Qiao Qiao and Qian Qian on the day he inspected the chimps’ enclosure.

Due to the extreme cold temperature at the zoo in Jilin Province, which borders with North Korea, the chimps are kept indoors during the winter months.
