Child Thrown From Car In T Bone Crash And Narrowly Avoids Being Run Over By Bus

This is the moment a child has a lucky escape after he is thrown from a car during a T-bone crash with a bus and narrowly avoids being run over by the large vehicle.

The incident took place in the city centre of Itatiba in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo on the night of Tuesday, 12th October.

CCTV footage shows how the car crashes into the side of the travelling bus at speed, damaging the car bonnet and causing the car to spin in the road.

A five-year-old child is thrown from the car and is seen skidding along the road dangerously close to the back wheel of the bus.

Luckily for the tot, he narrowly missed being run over by the wheel and only suffered light injuries.

He is seen picking himself up and running over to a visibly worried woman, possibly his mother, who picks him up.

CCTV footage shows the other occupants getting out of the car as a fire breaks out in the bonnet, but apparently fizzles out of its own accord.

The boy was taken to a local hospital where, at the time of reporting, he was said to be under observation and doing well. It is unclear if he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Two adults and two other children were in the car and 25 passengers were in the bus at the time.

According to the police, none of the passengers were injured and, from the footage, it appears the car’s other occupants were similarly uninjured.

The bus driver said the accident occurred when the driver of the car jumped a red light.

The car driver reportedly refused to take a breathalyser test. However, when he was checked at hospital, tests were done to ascertain if he was drunk at the time of the incident.
