An accused child molester sliced off his penis with a razor-sharp sickle and then apparently stored it in a food jar, it has emerged.
Yohanes Don Bosco, 32, was rushed to hospital after a neighbour found him bleeding profusely from his groin at his home in the Sikka regency, Indonesia.
Bosco, a married father of two, is said to have decided to commit suicide after he was accused of sexually abusing a minor family member.
Local media say he used the curved blade sickle to remove his manhood on 11th February, just days before police were due to arrest him.
An unnamed neighbour told how as they were talking, Bosco abruptly got up and went to the bathroom.
But moments later, the horrified neighbour found him soaked in blood and immediately called police.
Reports claim Bosco severed his penis using a sickle, and when officers arrived, they found the manhood stored in a food-preserving jar.
Police do not know if Bosco put it there or if it was saved by a family member.
Bosco was rushed to hospital where he is reportedly in a stable condition.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
