Former Manchester United star Javier Hernandez has been slammed by netizens for complaining about his Amazon account being blocked while people “die every day” from the coronavirus.

Former Real Madrid forward Hernandez, 31, who plays for MLS side LA Galaxy, made the controversial post on Monday 23rd March where he complained about his technical issues with his Amazon account.

The tweet read: “My amazon account has been blocked now for a week during this crisis. This is the 3rd time my account has been blocked.

“No one seems to be able to help over the phone and the service I have been receiving is not helpful. @amazon”

The post angered netizens as many criticised Hernandez for being insensitive as it comes during the coronavirus pandemic, officially named COVID-19 by the World Health Organization.

‘elcondek’ – whose real name is Ivan Kasanzew and is a sports anchor, said: “It is regrettable that in these moments @CH14_ is complaining about not being able to sign into his Amazon. It would be more productive if he wrote conscientious messages and less personal matters.”

‘cefecort’ joked: “When you score a goal it unblocks.”

‘Inn_mortal’ commented: “I think it is more important to send a message to every one of those fans (if you still have any) and ask for awareness in times when people die every day. I THINK THAT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR AMAZON ACCOUNT. A hug, champion.”

‘paddyon7’ said: “Oh poor Chicharito. What a pity. Of all the problems happening in the world, this one has to be one of the worst ones right now.”

‘tigrillornex’ said: “Easy champion, God gives the toughest battles to his strongest warriors.”

Hernandez has not issued a statement since the post.

There have been a reported 416,401 confirmed cases of COVID-19 around the world leading to 18,507 deaths.
