This is the moment a shocked dog owner comes out of the bathroom to find her pooch has completely trashed her sofa.

The owner emerged to find the pooch desperately trying to look innocent even though it was trapped under a cover with stuffing flying everywhere on 8th June.

Ironically, the owner – named only as Liu – had only put a cover on the sofa to protect it from her pet at her home in Jinan, Shandong province, eastern China.

But when the playful pooch became trapped under the cover it seemed to panic and virtually destroyed the sofa trying to get free.

Video footage shows the dog sitting looking guilty with its head poking through a hole in the cover.

Then – realising it is trapped – it tries to get away dashing around under the cover before finally finding a hole and dashing away to freedom.

The owner said she was disappointed at the destruction of the sofa, but said it was nothing new for her pet, which can be destructive when left alone.
