A celebrity psychic who was arrested for using psychotropic drugs has claimed he cannot sleep in his cell because ghosts keep bothering him.

The lawyer of self-proclaimed clairvoyant Roy Kiyoshi, who comes from the Indonesian capital Jakarta, said that his client is having trouble adjusting to life in confinement due to the presence of supernatural beings in his cell.

Kiyoshi, who boasts 2 million followers on Instagram, was arrested last week for using psychotropic drugs.

But now his lawyer, Henry Indraguna, has told local media: “He said that there are many spirits in his cell. That’s why he can’t sleep at night.”

He added: “The investigators just laughed when we told them. That’s because they don’t understand Roy and his abilities.”

According to local media, Indraguna has filed a quest for his client to be rehabilitated with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), as is common for drug users in Indonesia.

If his request is approved, the celebrity psychic could be in rehab by the end of the week, according to the lawyer.

Meanwhile, the local police confirmed that the investigation will continue even if Kiyoshi is admitted to rehab.

Last week, the police reportedly found dumolid pills, which contain the hypnotic drug nitrazepam, used for the short-term treatment of anxiety and insomnia, in the clairvoyant’s home as well as another unnamed substance.

Dumolid is listed as a psychotropic drug in the country since 2000 and can only be obtained with a doctor’s prescription.

Kiyoshi found fame on the TV show ‘Karma’ on the TV station ANTV in 2017.

He went on to star in several supernatural-themed TV series before releasing a horror film about his life last year called ‘Roy Kiyoshi (The Untold Story)’ that was widely panned, according to local media.

The investigation is ongoing.
