Celeb Plastic Surgeon Jailed For Over Three Years After Two Women Die Following Bigger Bum Ops

A celebrity plastic surgeon in Germany has been jailed for over three years after two women died following botched bottom enlargement operations.

The court in the German city of Duesseldorf, in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, sentenced Dr Reza Samary, 50, to three years and four months in prison on Tuesday (16th November).

The court jailed him for bodily harm resulting in death in two cases after he took far more than the recommended amount of fluid and body fat from the two women who died.

Judge Rainer Drees also said that the victims had not been properly informed of the risks, saying: “We rule out that the patients would have exposed themselves to the risk if they had known about alternatives to the two operations.”

The two women, aged 20 and 42 at the time time of their deaths, died after the botched procedures, which took place in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

The plastic surgeon took far more fluid and body fat from the women than recommended and injected the fat again, the court said.

This increased the risk of complications enormously compared to the alternative of splitting the buttock enlargement into two more gentle operations.

The bottom enlargement surgery is popular with celebrities, as it removes fat from undesirable areas like the tummy and moves it to the bottom to give it more volume and shape.

Reza Samary charged large fees and was a frequent poster on social media, often sharing videos of himself operating and including the before-and-after images of the beauty ops he carried out on his Instagram page.

A first incident took place on 12th June, 2018, when the doctor is alleged to have removed six litres of liquid fat from an unnamed student at his ‘Royal Center’ clinic before injecting 2.2 litres of fat into both of her buttocks, according to German daily Bild.

She ended up in hospital and the indictment says that the amount of fat he sucked out of her was too much. She luckily survived.

But a woman named only as Maria K., 20, due to local privacy laws, died after the doctor allegedly removed 12 litres of liquid from her body on 6th August 2018. She had paid EUR 9,000 (GBP 7,766) for the operation but died of blood loss and a fat embolism.

Samary also operated on an unnamed 42-year-old woman on 2nd July 2019 and, according to the prosecutor, there was no anaesthesiologist present, which was allegedly a violation of the duty of care, and she died too.

Experts said that she also died of blood loss and of a fat embolism, according to German daily Bild.

The lawyer for the doctor had requested that his client be acquitted and moved to appeal the verdict.
