A devoted cat owner has saved up her pet’s moulted fur for 18 months and fashioned four pairs of tiny slippers for the spoiled feline.

Ms Zhou, who comes from the city of Xuzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, posted clips of her 18-month project on the social network Douyin, which is what TikTok is known as locally.

During that time, the doting cat owner collected her pet’s moulted fur and kept it aside to fashion into tiny slippers.

The hair’s colour faded over time, but Ms Zhou managed to make four pairs of comfy slippers for her cat.

She also assured netizens that the cat suffered no pain during the process, and all the hair was collected after falling out naturally.

In the footage, Ms Zhou is seen measuring her pet’s paw with a ruler before shaping the collected fur into footwear.

The cat gets a pat on the head as the woman continues fashioning the hair into slippers while another feline looks on from the sofa.

The four pairs of slippers are seen laid out in front of the chubby cat as it appears nonplussed by the whole affair.

Undeterred, Ms Zhou tries out the slippers on the feline and they appear to be a perfect fit.

It is unclear how many other cats Ms Zhou keeps at home, and if she is also collecting their fur to one day fashion into footwear.
