Real Madrid icon Iker Casillas’s WAG has reportedly finished her chemotherapy treatment almost six months after her cancer diagnosis.

Casillas’s WAG Sara Carbonero, 35, has successfully finished her chemotherapy treatment according to Spanish magazine “Hola” yesterday (Wednesday).

According to Hola Carbonero “has finished her chemotherapy treatment which she took on preventatively in her fight against cancer” and already has plans for 2020 full of “weddings and hen parties” along with “a concert and a trip”.

The journalist and model has not made any statements confirming the news but she recently hinted at her recovery after posting pictures of flowers along with a letter she received from her friend and fellow journalist Isabel Jimenez.

The image shows the letter Carbonero received which says: “I knew I would not have to wait! There is a lot to celebrate, buddy. Isa, Alex and Hugo.”

In another image, the colourful flowers Jimenez sent to Carbonero can be seen.

Iker Casillas also posted a picture where he can be seen smiling in a street. The picture is captioned: “A day to be very happy!! #goodnightworld”.

Both posts came in late October, a little over a week ago.

Carbonero publicly announced she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer after doctors discovered a malignant tumour in her ovaries in May of this year.

She underwent surgery at the Ruber International Clinic in the Spanish capital Madrid to remove it.

It has been almost six months since her operation during which time the journalist has used social media to post positive messages and stories all hinting at a full recovery.

Casillas himself is recovering from a heart attack during a training session in early May 2019 which has kept him off the pitch for official matches but he did reportedly return to practice with the club in the pre-season in July of this year.

It is unclear if the superstar will be able to play professionally again.
