This is the moment a driver loses control of his car and slams into the back of a female teacher who was reportedly carried on the bonnet for over 60 feet before being pinned to a brick wall.

The accident happened in Jiangdu District in the city of Yangzhou in Jiangsu Province in East China on 19th August.

Traffic camera footage from Runjiang Road shows teacher Ms Fan, who is around 30 years old, exiting the cram school where she works and carrying a bag of refuse in her hand.

As she walks towards the bins behind the building, she steps onto the road and does not notice motorist Mr Gao’s black saloon car rolling towards her from behind.

Mr Gao, who claimed he was ill at the time of the incident, does not slow down or change directions before slamming into the back of the woman, who is carried for over 60 feet on the car bonnet.

The vehicle reportedly veered into a parked lorry and crashed to a stop against the boundary wall of a local school, with images showing an apparently unconscious Ms Fan being helped by arriving witnesses.

The police said Ms Fan suffered serious injuries including a broken leg. She is reportedly in intensive care but not in any life-threatening condition.

Mr Gao, who witnesses said had medical tape on his arm from a recent IV drip, claimed he had just been treated with fluids at a local hospital.

He said he “went blank” just before the crash due to his illness, but it is still unclear what condition he was treated for.

Investigations are ongoing and it unclear if the driver has been arrested.
