This is the moment an allegedly drunk passenger punches his taxi driver over 25 times in the space of half a minute and then uppercuts the cabbie when he tries to call the police.

Security footage from the cabbie’s vehicle shows it having been parked by the roadside in Shenzhen, a major port city in South China’s Guangdong Province, at just before 6am local time on 14th September.

According to reports, the cabbie picked the passenger up but ended up stopping the journey halfway after the drunk patron began using “abusive language” against him.

The taxi driver refused to complete the trip and asked the passenger to get out, but the drunk man refused and the pair remained inside the vehicle as the cabbie called the police.

In the security footage, the pair can be seen waiting for the cops to arrive when the passenger sudden screams at the cabbie: “F*ck your mother!”

When the fed-up cabbie shouts the same back, the passenger reaches over to the driver’s side and starts repeatedly punching him in the head.

As the cabbie tries to shield himself, the patron lands more than 25 punches in the space of just 30 seconds, including an uppercut to the driver’s jaw as he grabs his mobile phone and tries to call the police.

The video ends with the taxi driver connecting to a police operator and saying: “Why aren’t you here yet?

“I’m about to be beaten to death!”

Local authorities are said to have arrested the passenger who is under investigation for assault.
