Rush-hour drivers on a busy motorway got more than they bargained for when a Pornhub adult movie was broadcast on a roadside digital screen after it was reportedly hacked.
The incident took place on a busy motorway in the town of Boca del Rio in the southern Mexican state of Veracruz, and images of the blunder soon flooded social networks.
One netizen, named ‘VaniaPeredaa’, shared several photos with the message: “Good morning! It is 8.33am and they just put porn on the Boca del Rio digital billboard. How is your day going?”
The incident led to the motorway being closed, causing traffic chaos in the town, as the billboard continued to broadcast racy adult movies and the local authorities were unable to turn it off.
According to local media, the authorities had to contact Espectaculares Gavsamex, the company who own the billboard, to ask them to turn off the screen.
The company said the computer used to control the digital billboard appeared to have been hacked.
It is unclear if the authorities are investigating the alleged hack.
In 2017, a similar situation occurred on a screen on the outer beltway of Mexico City that suddenly began broadcasting pornographic videos as people made their way to work.
