This is the moment an out-of-control bus hits a grass verge before spinning around on its side, killing three passengers and injuring 41.

The accident was filmed by a company’s CCTV camera in front of the Milas-Izmir Highway in the district of Milas in the south-western Turkish province of Mugla.

In the footage, the bus is seen skidding off the road and driving head-on into an embankment.

The vehicle then overturns and spins dramatically along the side of the road.

Before coming to a stop, the spinning bus nearly collides with a passing lorry.

According to local media, the bus was being driven by Yilmaz Alik at the time of the accident.

The vehicle came off the road and flipped on its side, injuring 42 passengers and killing two on the spot.

Sadly, a third victim, identified as Kamil Evren, lost his life in hospital after being admitted with serious injuries.

Following a preliminary investigation, it is believed that the wet conditions caused by recent rainstorms in the area caused the bus to skid off the road and overturn.

There have been no further updates on the 41 injured passengers.

The police investigation is still ongoing.
