This is the moment a bungling thug makes his young son help him steal a mirror from a lift before the glass smashes on the floor as he tugs at it.

This bizarre incident took place in Russia’s second city St Petersburg and was recorded on a surveillance camera installed in the lift.

In the video a man, whose name is not reported, dressed in an orange jacket, can be seen getting into the lift in a residential building with a boy who is believed to be his son.

The man says “let’s take it. Let’s take this mirror home.”

The boy only named as Artyom, whose age is not reported, asks his dad if he wanted the mirror “for real” and the man then begins tugging at the glass.

The youngster begins helping his dad who warns him to stay clear but says that the mirror will not fall.

However, moments later the man accidentally tugs the mirror loose and the glass smashes on the floor of the lift.

Thankfully the shattered glass does not hit who the boy who then says “I told you this would happen.”

The pair then walk out of the lift and local media report the man will have to pay for the damaged mirror.

Reports state local social security officials could be sent to the man’s home as he is clearly setting a poor example for his son.
