Bungling Pair Try To Steal TV Screen From Tube Platform

This is the moment a bungling couple brazenly try to steal a raised TV screen from a metro platform using a ladder – and they were caught moments later by the cops.

The alleged thieves tried to steal the screen which was assembled to a metal structure on the platform of the underground line Barrancas in the Chilean capital of Santiago in the province of the same name in central Chile.

According to local media, the local police were called at around 22:00 p.m. on Monday to report a couple were trying to steal a TV from the platform.

In the video a man can be seen standing on a ladder as a woman holds it at the bottom. The man then passes her a tool he was allegedly using to unscrew the TV screen.

Local media report the police went looking for the couple in the underground station and arrested them when they found them on the same platform carrying the TV.

Reports named the thieves as Ruth Jara and Ariel Alexander, no ages given.

Alexander reportedly has a police record for robbery using violence and Jar for robbery.

Both offenders were arrested while the Public Ministry decides if they will be charged for the robbery.
