This is the moment a woman bungles a left turn at a busy junction and crashes her BMW into a female scooter rider who is pinned against the front of a Peugeot.

Traffic cameras in the city of Jinjiang, which is in coastal Quanzhou City in East China’s Fujian Province, shows the white BMW saloon turning from Huguang Road onto Quan’an Middle Road when the accident happens.

The BMW driven by Ms Zhou slams head-on into scooter rider Ms Ding as she waits at the lights at 8:51am local time on 17th September.

Ms Zhou pushes Ms Ding forwards and crashes to a stop against two stopped cars leaving the female victim pinned between bumpers of the BMW and the Peugeot.

Motorcycle policeman Lai Guolin, who was the first to arrive on scene, said he found the panicking BMW owner having left the engine running and the vehicle still in the automatic drive gear despite no longer sitting inside her car.

The video shows Officer Lai organising a group of several dozen rescuers who lift both the BMW and the Peugeot off the victim, freeing her body.

Ms Ding, who suffered a broken foot and clavicle, as well as internal bleeding, is being treated at Quanzhou’s PLA 910 Hospital.

Ms Zhou, whose vehicle and driving licence has been seized as part of ongoing investigations, reportedly told police that the crash happened when she mishandled the BMW while trying to pick something up in her footwell.
