The driver then appears to misjudge the kerb and accelerates onto the pavement, missing the car park entrance and ramming the man’s midriff against the wall.

The trapped man tries to break free, but the panicking driver takes a long time to get his car into reverse. Meanwhile, the woman rushes over to help.

The motorist eventually reverses and a huge dent is seen on the front of the car while the victim lies on the ground out of shot.

The bungling driver checks on the man before taking out his phone and entering the supermarket.

According to local media, the victim, identified as Mr. Wu, suffered multiple fractures to his lower body and was rushed to the intensive care unit of a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver, named as Mr. Yuan, was reportedly driving his son’s car at the time of the accident.

Police have confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
