This is the moment a man narrowly avoids an out-of-control pickup truck by casually moving his bum forward just as the vehicle ploughs into a traffic barrier behind him.

The crash happened outside Jiangshan Experimental Middle School in the county-level city of Jiangshan in Quzhou City in East China’s Zhejiang Province.

Traffic camera footage from Luxi North Road shows the pickup truck travelling in the innermost lane when a male pedestrian suddenly lurches onto a zebra crossing ahead of it.

The driver swerves to avoid the man, and the pedestrian panics too after spotting the pickup speeding towards him.

The pedestrian makes a run for it and the pickup driver loses control, crashing right towards the second man who realises he is in danger at the very last second – and then casually moves his backside forwards to avoid the vehicle.

The pickup can be seen crashing to a stop into a row of traffic barriers, with no one appearing to be injured during the scare.

Jiangshan police said the pickup driver Zheng, who was identified by his surname, was cleared of drink-driving but will be held fully liable for the accident for failing to slow down when approaching the zebra crossing.
