BUM DEAL: Outrage As Busty Malaysian Influencer Bares Derriere In Traditional Vietnamese Garb

A busty Malaysian model and influencer has sparked outrage in Vietnam after posing for a snap in traditional garb while flaunting her pert derriere.

MsPuiyi, real name Siew Pui Yi, 24, who boasts a whopping 17.4 million Instagram followers, reportedly landed in Vietnam on holiday on 2nd April, however, it only took her two days to cause a stir.

She was photographed showing off her behind while wearing a traditional Ao Dai garment, a long, split tunic usually worn over trousers in Vietnam.

While fairly figure-hugging, the tunic covers quite a lot of skin, however, the Malaysian model used the split to show off her peachy bottom.

After the snap was posted on social networks and widely circulated, many of her fans praised her risque holiday photo, however, Vietnamese social media users were far from impressed.

Vietnamese netizens demanded to know the identity of the woman flaunting her derriere in the traditional garb, accusing her of disrespecting their customs.

MsPuiyi, who appeared on the cover of Penthouse magazine last year, was promptly named and shamed as the model in the controversial photo and promptly faced a backlash.

One outraged netizen said: “Ao Dai is a tradition of our Vietnamese culture, I find (your) way of wearing the Ao Dai really inappropriate and in Vietnam we call (this) offensive. I and everyone else ask you to take down the image and apologize to Vietnam!”

Following the online backlash, MsPuiyi issued an apology on her Instagram account on 6th April.

Tagging herself at the Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai in the city of Hoi An in the central Vietnamese province of Quang Nam, she wrote: “To my recent travel to Vietnam, there was a posting of mine that truly upset the people, and I deeply and sincerely apologize for my actions/content and the disrespect to the traditional culture of Vietnam, to which I have now taken down.

“I have read each and every one of your comments and I do take it to heart, you are all amazing people and I absolutely loved my travels. I do hope to have another opportunity to be back in Vietnam and of course, take a different approach to shooting my content!

“I apologize once again, and will be more sensitive to the local cultures all over the world.”
