BUCKET MISSED: US Statehouse Awash After Pipe Bursts

This is the moment the Ohio Senate chambers flood after a burst pipe sent thousands of gallons of water gushing through the ceiling.

Footage of the flood – shot by retiring senator Jay Hottinger, 53 – show the water pouring down into a hopelessly overwhelmed bucket.

Floodwater can be seen spreading across the floor throughout the Statehouse building.

In a post on social media, Senator Hottinger said: “My last day at the Statehouse not going very well.”

Hottinger was at the statehouse to collect his belongings and turn in his office key and parking pass when the water suddenly burst from the ceiling.

Hottinger told Newsflash that statehouse workers turned off the building’s water and started clean-up within minutes.
