A drug addict who stabbed his ex to death in front of her four-year-old son has been seized by police in Argentina.
Deranged Jose Luis Gomez burst into victim Sofia Anabel Sosa’s home in Salsipuedes and hacked at her with a blade while her terrified son looked on.
Ironically, a police panic button – issued a week earlier after death threats from Gomez – was found beside her body.
Sofia, 23, had been at home with a male friend when Gomez burst through the front door on 19th December.
After hearing screams, neighbours called police, but Sofia was already dead by the time they got there, report local media.
Gomez had fled but was tracked down and arrested.
Sofia had split up with him because of his alleged drug addiction and violent behaviour, report local media.
Her mother, Analia, told local media: “He [Sofia’s son] saw the entire crime scene.
“My daughter had been given a panic button because he [Gomez] threatened to kill her.”
She added: “People addicted to drugs should be locked up, like psychiatric patients. He bothered her all the time, threatened her in every way.”
The suspect has been charged with aggravated murder and aggravated attempted murder.
He has been remanded in custody.
