Police officers have initiated a search for a man who savagely kicked his wife in the head in front of baffled staff and customers in a store in Russia.

The employees at the ZhiznMart supermarket on Tatishcheva Street in the city of Yekaterinburg, Russia were stunned after the unidentified man attacked the poor woman on Friday, 28th October.

He then yelled at others not to interfere and that the woman was ‘his’ to do with as he pleased, after horrified staff and customers attempted to prevent the gruesome assault.

They then attempted to help the victim after the man left, but she reassured them that she could handle it herself and rushed out of the store.

The incident reportedly happened after the couple had an argument over family matters.

Video footage of the dreadful incident outraged netizens after it was posted online.

One of the eyewitnesses told local media: “The man beat a woman in front of everyone, assuring everyone around that this was his wife.

“People threatened to call the police, in response he shouted that he worked in the police, and nothing would happen to him.”

They added that the man was “a danger to society.”

Yekaterinburg police reported that they have not received any complaints concerning the attack but they decided they would look into it anyway.

A spokesperson from the police said: “It happened last night, 28th October. Why this happened, we don’t know.

“Employees immediately began to offer to help her, but she refused.

“They called the police, but by that time the victim had already left the store. We don’t know if they are married or not.

“The woman did not give us her details.”

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the man be held accountable for his actions once he has been arrested.

The investigation is ongoing.
