Brazils Real-Life Barbie Goes Viral For Glossy Pink Lifestyle

A real-life Barbie in Brazil has become an internet sensation after photos of her pink-themed home hit the national press.

Bruna Carolina Peres, aka Bruna Barbie, has 11.9 million followers on TikTok and 2.4 million subscribers on YouTube where she shows off her Barbie-themed lifestyle.

The pretty Brazilian, who hails from the southern Brazilian state of Parana and lives in a coastal municipality in the same state, aspires to live like her favourite doll.

Her clothes, possessions, furniture and even her entire house are all Barbie-themed and, more often than not, coloured pink.

What was a lifestyle choice for Bruna has now become her source of income, as she works as a full-time influencer, earning money from her videos and receiving free products from brands and gifts from fans.

She told local media: “At school, my classmates started to call me Barbie and it ended up sticking. Nowadays, I make a good living from it.

“I’d like to make it clear that I don’t intend to be a ‘real-life Barbie’. I’m Bruna Barbie, a woman who likes the doll’s style. My world is pink.”

While some Barbie fanatics have undergone plastic surgery to resemble their favourite doll, Bruna has “merely” decided to pursue a pink-themed life.

The law graduate told local media: “I’ve liked pink since I was a child, but it wasn’t until I was a teenager that I decided I wanted to be a girl’s girl.

“I started to change my whole wardrobe, so much so that today I only see pink. I have a few black and white things to go with them, but 97 percent is pink.”

Bruna chose not to reveal her age, joking to local media: “I usually say I’m 61 years old, which is the age of the doll I so admire.”

She enjoys sharing content with her fans and even created a social media account for her puppy, Perola, which now boasts half a million followers.

Bruna built her own Barbie-themed house by the beach on land she inherited from her family. She joked to local media: “Isn’t Barbie’s house in Malibu?”

It took over a year to be completed and cost Bruna over BRL 500,000 (GBP 67,100), despite many of its contents being gifted to her for free.

She told local media: “Everything here is pink: the pool, paintings, curtains, bedrooms, living rooms, kitchen, laundry room, bathrooms, appliances.

“There’s only one room that’s blue because I did it in honour of Ken, Barbie’s boyfriend.”

As Bruna currently has no Ken of her own to boast of, the room is used by her brother when he visits her.

As far as the actual dolls are concerned, the Miss Barbie Universe winner told local media: “I currently own a ‘few’, some 50 Barbies.”
