Brazilian Singer Dies After Being Shot 8 Times While Leaving Concert Celebrating 27th Birthday

This is the moment a blood-soaked Brazilian singer fights for life in his car after being shot eight times while leaving a concert where he was celebrating his 27th birthday.

The first video shows Romario de Jesus still alive and sitting in a car after being shot eight times, and the second clip shows him being taken to hospital by medics.

Romario de Jesus, also known as ‘Bruxo’ from the Forro de Respecto band, was shot after he left a concert in Manaus in the Brazilian state of Amazonas in the early hours of Thursday morning (9th September), where he had also briefly performed on stage with his band.

The singer later died of his injuries after being taken to hospital.

Graphic footage shows Bruxo alive and sitting in a car with the door open and with blood all over him. It was apparently filmed shortly after he was shot.

A second piece of footage shows him being taken away on a stretcher by medics.

The news site G1 reported that a family member said this was not an assassination but a mugging gone wrong, while other members of his entourage are unsure if he had any enemies.

However, his cousin, who has not been named, is quoted in local media outlet Expresso AM as saying that he does not believe that this could have happened “out of nowhere”.

Police are currently trying to identify the suspects. No arrests had been made at the time of writing.
