Brave Motorist Films Dramatic Mountain Landslide At Close Distance As It Blocks Road Tunnel

This is the dramatic moment boulders tumble down a mountainside and block access to a road tunnel as a brave road user films the landslide at a close distance.

The dramatic incident was filmed at Xier Tunnel in Heishui County in the Chinese province of Sichuan last week.

According to local reports, the earth on top of a mountain began to slip following a period of heavy rain, and a large number of rocks and boulders were sent tumbling down the mountainside.

The landslip covered the road access to the Xier Tunnel as motorists sounded their horns to alert anyone passing through the tunnel that rocks are falling.

The emergency services arrived on the scene and realised the road was blocked and needed clearing before traffic could resume.

No injuries were caused in the landslide and the police have asked drivers to take extra care while driving through the area.

In the footage, a cameraperson on the road films earth slipping at the top of the mountain before a large section gives way directly above the tunnel.

A large number of rocks and boulders are sent tumbling towards the tunnel entrance, situated at the foot of the mountain.

Motorists sound their horns to apparently alert any drivers in the tunnel at the time as an avalanche of earth and rocks blocks the entrance and sends huge plumes of smoke into the air.

Meanwhile, the brave driver films the scene at a relatively close distance without retreating away from the falling rocks.
