This is the moment a quick-thinking driver who finds his lorry ablaze drives into a fire station where the fire is put out in a matter of minutes.

Delivery driver Mr He said he was prompted to check his shipment of batteries when his lorry cabin “felt very hot” on the morning of 13th September.

Mr He said: “I saw smoke and drove right over here (to the fire station).”

Video taken from the Anhai firefighting brigade in Jinjiang City, which is in East China’s Fujian Province, shows the lorry being driven through the entrance of the fire station.

Its cargo box is engulfed in flames which are threatening to burn through the front cabin into the driver’s seat, the clip shows.

In the footage, uniformed firefighters respond by using the fire hose on one fire engine to begin dousing the battery fire in the cargo box.

They managed to bring the flames under control and put it out in a matter of minutes, reportedly salvaging Mr He’s lorry.

The delivery driver said he was familiar with his route and knew there was a fire station up ahead.

The fire, which is believed to have been started by a faulty battery, is still being investigated.
