A hungry wolf that attacked a flock of sheep has been chased away by a dog not even a year old.
The Tibetan mastiff is less than one year old, according to local media in Hulunbeier, in the province of Inner Mongolia, China.
But despite having barely grown into a proper dog, the courageous pup did not hesitate when a lone wolf approached a flock of sheep on 3rd December.
Instead, it chased the hungry beast away as soon as it spotted it creeping up on the herd.
CCTV footage shows the moment the fearless mastiff saves the sheep from being eaten and runs after the wolf and drives it away.
The owner, named Ms Li in local media, stepped outside when she heard all the commotion.
She was stunned to find her young dog bravely chasing after the wolf to protect her flock.
She said that her husband went out to make sure their pup would not get bitten.
The Tibetan Mastiff (Canidae Canis) is most commonly found in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
Tibetan mastiffs have a strong temperament and are highly alert, highly territorial, and extremely loyal to their masters.
They have strong hostility towards strangers in the territory and are good at protecting their masters and their belongings.
