This is the moment two young boys are thrown from the car in a motorway crash and they escape unharmed.

The incident occurred on the North-South Expressway near the town of Nibong Tebal in the state of Penang in north-western Malaysia and was recorded on a dashboard camera.

In the video, a red Proton Waja can be seen in the fast lane of the motorway when the driver begins creeping into a lane occupied by a black Honda City.

The driver of the red vehicle then swerves away from the Honda but loses control and crashes into the black car.

Both cars are sent careering into the crash barrier and two youngsters, aged 11 and 13 are left on the side of the road after falling out of the Honda.

Their mother Norseha Abdullah, 44, then rushes out of the car with her daughter to check on the boys who were reportedly uninjured. Abdullah said her children were “traumatised” by the incident but not injured.

The Proton driver, a 34-year-old Chinese woman who was with her twin daughters, reportedly suffered minor injuries to her left leg and neck. Her children were uninjured.

She has been issued a summons and local police have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing. It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control.
