This is the moment a teen school boy threatens his teacher with a huge knife in front of his screaming classmates after the teacher allegedly gave him a telling off.

The incident took place in the courtyard of Francisco de Paula Santander school, in Bucaramanga, a city in the north-central Colombian department of Santander.

Fellow students, older and younger, are also seen witnessing the incident and towards the end, some of them scream.

According to local media, the teacher had allegedly reprimanded the student in the classroom.

The student then insulted his teacher and left school to go home, only to come back with the knife.

The Bucaramanga local police told local media that the school management knew of the student’s actions.

Ana Jazmin Pardo, the Sub-secretary of Education of Bucaramanga, told local media that the student went home, where he acquired the blade before heading back to the school.

Padro added: “There was a kind of reprimand, which made the student leave the classroom, go to his house and come back with the blade, as seen in the video. Since then, he has never been back to school.”

The Head of the local police, Manuel Antonio Vasquez Prada, told local media that the boy was soon found but did not mention where. He was not charged because of his young age.

The student was later taken to the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare to be sent to his family.

Police chief Prada said that so far this year, 524 minors have been caught in Bucaramanga for crimes related to the fabrication, traffic, or possession of drugs, as well as theft and even homicide.

He added that five teachers have been threatened by students or parents because they reprimanded their children in Bucaramanga this year.

According to Ana Maria Pinto, the school’s headmistress, the student has “a lot of problems, so his case was sent to the communal living committee on different occasions”.

On the other hand, the boy’s mother, Diana Milena Meneses Cepeda, defended her son saying: “The teacher beat my son and pushed him because he made a joke, after which my son jumped over the school fence and came home crying. The only thing he did was take a knife and defend himself. That was a moment of rage, but he did not mean to attack the teacher.”

The headmistress also told local media that the student is not allowed back into the school and that his academic situation is in the Education Department’s hands.
