This video shows a young boy getting to his feet apparently unscathed after running into the street without checking both directions and being hit by a passing pickup truck.

The incident was filmed by a shop CCTV camera in the neighbourhood of Jardim Colorado in the city of Campo Grande in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul on the afternoon of 27th January.

According to local reports, the boy, name not disclosed, was uninjured after running in front of an oncoming vehicle and being sent flying across the road.

The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) said the victim suffered no abrasions in the incident, but will remain under observation as a precautionary measure.

In the CCTV footage, the young lad is seen inspecting the contents of his plastic bag on the pavement before checking the traffic to cross the road.

He apparently only looks in one direction as he waits for a lorry to pass and runs into the street.

The youngster runs right in front of an oncoming pickup truck and is sent flying across the tarmac.

The driver immediately pulls over to the side of the road while the boy lifts his head and sits up in the street.

Apparently uninjured, the boy then gets to his feet as the pickup truck driver runs over to check on him.

The video ends as the driver picks up the boy and walks over to the pavement to check for possible injuries.
