Boy Chants In Demonic Voice As Family Claims He Became Possessed Playing Videogame Free Fire

This footage shows a 15-year-old boy chanting wildly in a demonic voice while tied up by his relatives after allegedly becoming “possessed” playing the videogame Free Fire.

The incident was filmed in the town of Salama in the Honduran department of Olancho last week.

According to the news site Mileno, the boy’s family believed he was in a state of demonic possession after spending a long time playing the videogame Free Fire, and felt that they had to restrain him to prevent him from hurting someone.

In the first clip, the boy is seen tied on the floor while talking in a ‘demonic’ voice as concerned loved ones stand around watching him.

The second video shows the teen tied to a bed while a woman apparently records his unusual utterances with a phone, including: “A name above every name on Earth and around the world.”

The boy’s family and neighbours said he became “obsessed” with the videogame and urged other families to promote sports at home and stop their children playing Free Fire and similar videogames.

They added that they have been praying for the youngster, however, it is unclear if they sought outside help to ‘exorcise’ the allegedly possessed teen, or if the boy is now on the mend.

However, he is not the first child to hit the headlines for displaying strange behaviour after allegedly playing Free Fire for long periods of time.

In August, a video of a sleepwalking teen apparently ‘playing’ with a videogame controller that isn’t there went viral on Facebook with 8.1 million views.

The mother of the Guatemalan teen reportedly woke up and found her son going through the motions of playing a videogame while apparently in a semi-conscious state.

The footage also shows loved ones unsuccessfully trying to stir the boy from his dazed state.

Like the boy in Honduras, the family said he had been playing the videogame for long periods of time when they filmed the incident.

According to the news site Debate, the authorities in the Mexican city of Oaxaca have linked the disappearance of three children aged between 14 and 11 to Free Fire after they were allegedly contacted by criminal groups in online chats for forced recruitment.

‘Garena Free Fire’, also known simply as ‘Free Fire’, is a hit Battle-Royale-type game developed for android and iOS mobile phones that became the most popular mobile game in 2019. VentureBeat reports that in 2020 it had approximately 80 million daily players on its platforms.
