BORDER FARCE: Migrant Paraglides Over Spain-Morocco Border Fence

This bizarre footage shows how a migrant managed to fly over the Spain-Morocco border fence on a paraglider.

Footage filmed from inside a car travelling on the Melilla ring road on 1st December shows how the migrant managed to enter the Spanish North African enclave by paragliding over the two six-metre-tall razor wire fences that separate it from Morocco.

The witnesses inside the car informed the Civil Guard and officers were immediately dispatched to the area where the breach occurred but failed to locate the migrant.

The nationality of the person who managed to cross the border illegally remains unclear, but those who regularly attempt the feat tend to be from sub-Saharan Africa.

Paragliding is believed to be a new tactic used by migrants to enter Spain illegally.

The Melilla border fence has become notorious in recent years for migrants trying to scale it by hand.

In a shocking incident on 25th June, 18 died and several were hospitalised after 2,000 people scaled the fence, 133 successfully.

Melilla is one of two Spanish enclaves in North Africa, the other being Ceuta. The fences that separate the cities from Morocco are the European Union’s only land borders with Africa.
