Dnipro: a man involved in a grenade explosion was detained in his own apartment during a special police operation

On the specified fact criminal proceedings under Art. 15 h. 2 st. 115 (attempted murder) and Part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

On June 22, at about 7:30 p.m., police received a report of an explosion near a house on Zaporizhzhya Highway in the Shevchenkivskyi district. An 11-year-old boy was injured in the blast. The child was hospitalized.

The leadership of the GUNP in the Dnipropetrovsk region, explosives technicians, the forensic laboratory of the Dnipropetrovsk police investigation department, the KORD special unit, the investigative and operative group of the police department № 7 of the Dnipropetrovsk district police department are working on the spot.

A 54-year-old local resident was detained. According to police, a man in a state of intoxication threw an object resembling a grenade from the window of an apartment on the seventh floor of the house.

Police found two more grenades and ammunition at the criminal’s residence, and the search is underway. The man is currently detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
