Meet the hot German firefighter who also became a champion bodybuilder after shattering her lower back several years ago.

Monique Lucius, 26, who comes from the village of Neukirchen in the municipality of Reinsberg in the German state of Saxony, said that she started lifting weights regularly eight years ago and now goes to the gym every day.

However, she pointed out that her fitness regime was not just about getting fit and looking good; a bale of straw fell on her 13 years ago and she shattered several vertebrae.

She told the German daily Bild: “I needed to start training so my back would not get too stiff.”

Monique, who is happily married, said that fitness is also important for her job as a firefighter, adding: “You have to be in good shape to be able to help.”

Monique, who said she likes to keep pushing her body to new limits time and again, can reportedly lift 300 kilogrammes (661 lbs) on the leg press and she boasts the toned back and shoulders of an Olympic swimmer.

According to Bild, she is probably the strongest woman in Saxony and has even received special praise from the mayor of Reinsberg, Bernd Hubricht, for her “indispensable” contribution to her community.

Hubricht said: “She is a particularly active community member and an indispensable support for the work of young people.”

Two years ago, Monique founded the Youth Fire Brigade with her father to “close the gap between children, 10 to 16 years old, and adult service” in the fire department.

As well her connection with the local fire brigade, which she says she has been involved with since she was a child, Monique has also won local bodybuilding competitions and came second in an East German competition two years ago.
