This hilarious footage going viral online shows a French police officer marching up to a woman lying on the beach to fine her for breaking lockdown only to realise that ‘she’ is actually a blow-up sex doll.

In the video, which has notched up nearly half a million views on various social media platforms since Sunday, there appears to be a woman lying on a beach under a parasol, but then a police officer wearing a motorbike helmet marches up.

The woman filming can be heard giggling as the cop stands motionless for a second, appearing to realise that giving this lockdown violator a fine may prove challenging.

He then turns away, apparently considering his options. After touching the doll, as if to check whether it really was a blow up doll, he takes ‘her’ parasol down. He then deflates the doll and carries it off as the footage ends.

The footage was shot and posted online by documentary filmmaker Jane Kozlowski on Sunday and it has already notched up 140,000 views on her Facebook account alone, not counting the views from people reposting it on other platforms, bringing its total to at least 470,000.

The hilarious incident was filmed on Carnon beach, which looks out onto the Mediterranean Sea, just outside the city of Montpellier in the southern French department of Herault.

It is unclear who put the doll there, but the police seem to have seen the funny side of the prank and even posted their own picture of the doll on Twitter, saying: “The gendarmes rescued a doll that was abandoned by its owner.”

Speaking exclusively to Newsflash, Jane Kozlowski said: “I am a documentary filmmaker and I am confined to this beach house during the lockdown. I film the beach a lot, and the horizon, and sometimes the absurdity of it all. This was really lucky.”

She added: “I am currently making a documentary about living in isolation during the coronavirus lockdown. I have just finished my first film in a series.”

When asked how she managed to capture the hilarious incident on film, she told Newsflash: “Every day I film the sea, the horizon, the beach, my neighbours. I live here, my terrace gives straight onto the beach. When I got up, I saw this parasol on the beach with this ‘woman’ under it.”

She added: “I found that what this woman was doing was very daring, because the police patrol all day long, with their helicopter, on foot or in a boat.”

She then said: “After about three hours, I decided to start filming her. I have an HD camera for my work, so I zoomed in to see her up close and then it suddenly hit me that it was a blow up doll.

“It wasn’t long before the cops showed up.”

Jane told Newsflash she was really happy about the reaction online and speaking about how the video has notched up nearly 500,000 views, she said: “It fills my heart to have made so many people laugh, especially during these strange times.”
