BLOODY MIRACLE: Wrong Man Shot Six Times By Bungling Hitman Survives

An innocent man shot six times at point-blank range by a hitman who had got the wrong target has astonished medics by surviving the attack.

Shocking CCTV footage of the botched assassination shows the moment bricklayer Valdson Antonio Goncalves was shot in Carmo do Paranaiba, south-eastern Brazil, on 10th December.

In the clip, the gunman walks up to a roadside building site and instantly opens fire on Valdson.

As the bricklayer tries to flee, the would-be assassin chases him, firing six rounds at close range before running away.

Local media reported that a client had hired the underworld killer to murder his brother over an inheritance, but the confused hitman targeted the wrong man.

The gunman was arrested by police on 14th December. He admitted to being promised BRL 30,000 (GBP 4,700) for the hit.

The person who had contracted him was also arrested on 14th December.

Both the client’s brother and Valdson work as bricklayers and were dressed similarly on the day of the shooting.

Valdson’s daughter, Monique Lara, told local media on 15th December that her father was in a serious but stable condition.

Monique told local media: “I heard a very loud noise, I thought it was a bomb.

“I never imagined it would be a shot. When I got closer, my father opened the door all bloodied.”

She added: “I think they passed information to the crook very wrong. It’s cowardly.”

Ironically, Valdson was rescued by the man who was the intended target.

He was taken to hospital in Patos de Minas, where he remained at the time of reporting.

Monique said: “We are going to go through hard times for a long time.
