BITE SEIZED: Burglary Suspect Gets Dragged Out By A K-9 And Put Into Handcuffs

This is the dramatic moment a burglary suspect wanted by police gets dragged out by a K-9 from where he was hiding after attempting to escape.

Newsflash obtained the footage from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, along with a short statement according to which deputies located the suspect, later identified as Jon Winter, 47, hiding in a storage closet of someone’s residence in Volusia County, in the US state of Florida.

The Sheriff’s Office said: “Deputy Bergeron and K-9 Toki responded to the 2700 block of Atlantic Avenue to assist the Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety in locating a burglary suspect.

“It was reported that the suspect entered an occupied residence at 3 am and fled when confronted.”

Toki was able to hunt down Winter who can be seen hiding at a local house’s outdoor storage space.

Body-worn footage shows the K-9 digging its sharp teeth into Winter’s arm and pulling him out of his hiding place.

Winter was treated on scene for minor dog bite injuries to his arm and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail, where he remains in custody without bond, the Sheriff’s Office said.
