These are the cuts a motorcyclist has suffered to his face after riding into a fishing line which had been stretched across a road in an apparently deliberate attempt to cause serious injury.

The shocking accident took place on the Duta–Ulu Klang Expressway in the Klang Valley area of western Malaysia where local media report a fishing line had purposefully been set up across the tarmac for bikers to ride into.

Twitter user ‘musqimsempoi’ shared photos of his unnamed friend who reportedly rode into the fishing line as he was riding his motorcycle down the expressway.

The rider had reportedly been travelling at a low speed, which fortunately prevented serious injuries. Local media report the biker could have been decapitated if he had been travelling at high speed.

Images show how the fishing line had cut the biker’s nose, cheek and chin. He appears to have received stitches to the cut to the bridge of his nose and reports state the fishing line cut through the biker’s buckle strap.

The images have been shared over 10,000 times online and the netizen shared a snap of the fishing line in his hand and the buckle strap it cut through.
