This is the moment a car turns into the path of an oncoming biker who is sent hurtling through the air before landing hard next to the kerb and remarkably only suffering grazes.
The accident took place on Avenida Brasil in the municipality of Rio das Ostras located in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro on the afternoon of 2nd November.
The accident, which took place in the neighbourhood of Extensao do Bosque, was filmed by a home CCTV camera.
In the footage, a motorist in a black vehicle is seen turning into the path of the oncoming 31-year-old motorcyclist who crashes into the front of the car and flies through the air before landing hard next to the pavement.
Despite the apparent severity of the biker’s fall, he left hospital the following day having suffered no fractures and only needing antibiotic treatment for grazes, according to the local authorities.
However, the Municipal Council also said the victim had left hospital on 3rd November “without finishing the treatment indicated by the unit’s doctors”.
The driver was uninjured in the incident and remained at the scene to help the injured biker, according to the news site G1.
It is unclear if the local authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
