Biker Helps Trapped Paraglider After Finding Him Dangling From Power Lines Above Mountain Road

This is the moment a helpful biker comes across a paraglider dangling above a mountain road after his equipment became tangled in power lines.

The paraglider, named as Serkan Kilic, age not disclosed, jumped from Ganos Mountain in the district of Sarkoy in the north-western Turkish province of Tekirdag at a height of around 600 metres (1,969 feet).

According to the news site Son Dakika on 5th November, Kilic encountered a problem with his paragliding wing and ended up tangled in the power lines above the road in the area of Ucmakdere.

A passing motorcyclist encountered the man while riding along the mountain road.

In the biker’s helmet-cam footage, Kilic is seen dangling several metres from the ground as the motorcyclist pulls over and starts to untangle him.

According to Son Dakika, the motorcyclist informed other paragliders in the area and asked for help.

Kilic, who was rescued at the scene with the help of paragliders Ali Sirali and Hasan Ozer, ages not disclosed, was subsequently taken to hospital for medical checks.

Meanwhile, representatives of the Trakya Elektrik Dagitim AS (TREDAS) electrical company visited the scene to remove the equipment left behind on the power cables.

There have been no further updates on the paraglider’s current state of health.
