A factory worker who discovered a dead body from a car accident lying on the road as he drove home was his son-in-law was photographed after he stopped to pray over the corpse.
The accident took place on the Jalan Bukit Katil main road in the Malaysian state of Malacca at around 6.30 am on 2nd November.
The victim, who got married last year, was the dad of a 10-month-old baby girl.
An image of the victim’s father-in-law, identified as Roslan Ramlan, 54, sitting in front of the dead body with his head bowed has been widely shared on social networks.
The photo shows the dead son-in-law, identified as Muhammad Zulhilmi, age not disclosed, covered by a white sheet on the tarmac.
Ramlan was reportedly passing through the area when he realised that the fallen biker was his daughter’s partner.
He read verses from the Quran as he sat next to the body where he read, and waited for the emergency services to turn up.
The factory worker’s Yamaha LC135 motorbike was involved in a collision with a car being driven by an unnamed woman, 38.
The victim reportedly died of a strong blow to the head.
The father-in-law said that Zulhilmi lived with him and his wife and was a good husband to their daughter and father to the couple’s baby girl.
It is unclear if the road accident is under investigation.
