This is the moment a lorry runs over a scooter forcing the fallen rider to desperately roll out of the way before he is crushed under its huge wheels too.

The incident was filmed on Liushi Road in the city of Liuzhou located in the southern Chinese province of Guangxi and was later shared on social media.

In the footage, a scooter rider is seen hesitantly approaching a heavy goods vehicle whose driver is looking to join the motorway.

Seemingly without being able to see the biker, the lorry driver pulls away and knocks the man off the scooter which is then flattened under its wheel.

Meanwhile, the fallen biker is seen desperately rolling on his side to avoid being crushed under the lorry’s wheels as well.

Realising something is wrong, the lorry driver stops in the middle of the road as the biker gingerly gets to his feet and goes to sit on a nearby kerb.

Traffic police spokesman Mr Zhang Bin told local media: “Scooter riders should stay away from heavy goods vehicles to ensure their own safety. Lorry drivers should also check blind spots.

“This was a very fortunate incident because the biker reacted quickly, however the next person may not be so lucky.”

According to local media, the unnamed biker only received minor injuries.

It is unclear if the local authorities are investigating the incident.
