This pretty 20-year-old student has been found dead with her feet tied together on a balcony a few days before her 21st birthday and cops have launched a manhunt for her boyfriend.
Victim Anna Egorova, 20, was enrolled at the prestigious Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) located in Russia’s capital city of Moscow.
Egorova’s grandfather, who is her legal guardian, told reporters that he spoke to her on Saturday 7th December as she was feeling unwell.
He decided to take some medication to her the following day but he could not reach her by phone.
The following day, the caring grandfather, whose name is not reported, became suspicious when he received a message from his granddaughter in which she signed off with a nickname for ‘grandfather’ she did not normally use.
He went to her flat, which was locked but he eventually managed to get inside. He found his granddaughter’s dead body covered in a blanket on the balcony.
Local media report that her legs were tied and she had a visible head injury.
The police were called and her 23-year-old boyfriend was named as the main suspect after a criminal case for murder was initiated.
Local media report the unnamed suspect, who originally comes from the Chuvash Republic region in western Russia, moved in with Anna about three weeks ago.
He then reportedly invested a lot of money into renovating the flat, as well as purchasing a new TV and was planning on buying a new washing machine.
The boyfriend has not been found since the time of the murder. The victim was set to turn 21 on 13th December.
