This is the moment a man desperately holds on to his girlfriend as she reportedly tries to throw herself from a 40-foot-high ledge outside their residential building.
The young couple from the county of Changning, which is in south-western China’s Sichuan Province, alerted neighbours with their quarrel on 27th August.
Video from the Zhuhai Residential District shows the woman’s body hanging over the ledge underneath their window, while her boyfriend is the only thing stopping her from plunging 40 feet to the ground below.
The couple tussle outside the building as firefighters gather below and later appear in the windows above the lovers.

Throughout the incident, the woman can be seen seemingly trying to break free from her boyfriend in order to throw herself from the tower block, but the man refuses to let go.
According to Ma Lu, one of the firemen at the scene, rescuers and family members spent a further 40 minutes speaking to the woman, calming her down until she agreed to be helped.
Video shows her and her boyfriend then each being helped back into the building by firefighters.
According to the authorities, the incident began when the couple got into an argument, though the reason behind their fight is unclear.
