BEETLE JUICE: Creepy Vids Show Scorpion Feasting On Cockroach

The moment a scorpion overpowers a hapless cockroach and stings it repeatedly before devouring it has been captured and shared by a biologist.

It was shared alongside a piece of footage showing a bizarre-looking worm gliding along a piece of bark in woods in Vietnam.

Biologist and photographer Sergei Bykovskii, 27, has been fascinated by insects since he was a child, and he often shares pictures and videos taken in his adopted homeland.

He told Newsflash in an interview that the footage of the giant forest scorpion (Heterometrus petersii) was filmed at his home.

The clip of the worm, “probably Diversibipalium rauchi”, was recorded “in the forest”.

Sergei told Newsflash: “The scorpion is my pet, he’s been living with me for several months. He eats well, I feed him with local insects.

“Earlier, when I lived in Russia, I had almost 100 species of insects. I had an exhibition where I introduced people to how beautiful nature is.

“But then my family changed and I went to live in another country.”

Sergei revealed: “I’ve been fond of insects since childhood, then my hobby grew into studying at university, then into work, but it’s still my hobby.”

He said: “As a child, I spent a lot of time in nature, together with my grandmother, and next to my house there was a wonderful forest.”

Sergei posts his remarkable and often bizarre footage to Instagram (wonder_insectarium), where he has more than 2,000 followers.

He told Newsflash: “I think that people should know more about the nature that surrounds us, protect it, and take care of it, because this is our common home.”
